Waterwynch House is an exclusive-use coastal retreat near Tenby in Pembrokeshire, sleeping up to 30 guests across 12 ensuite bedrooms. Set above its own beach within ten acres of gardens and woodland, with panoramic views across Carmarthen Bay, it offers a setting that makes a weekend feel genuinely special without needing to over-organise every moment.
When you hire Waterwynch, the entire house and grounds are yours for the duration of your stay. The grounds, the bar, the cinema room, the games room, the terrace, the gardens: all of it belongs to your group and no one else.
Everything You Need
One of the things that makes Waterwynch work particularly well for hen and stag groups is that the house itself provides most of what you need for a great weekend. There is no need to coordinate taxis, book restaurants for thirty or navigate a town centre in a large group unless you want to.
The bar can be stocked and ready. The cinema room is there for a film night. The games room has a full-sized snooker table and dartboard. The Great Hall is a natural gathering space for the kind of long, relaxed evening that becomes the story people tell afterwards. The dining room seats everyone together for a celebratory dinner, whether you use one of our local caterers or self-cater from the well-equipped kitchen.
Outside, the beach is directly accessible from the house. A fire on the beach as the sun goes down over Carmarthen Bay is, by some distance, the moment guests mention most often when they describe what made their weekend.
Tenby and Saundersfoot are both within easy reach for those who want a day out, a coastal walk or an evening in town. But most groups find that the house and its setting provide everything they came for.
No Short Straw Rooms
At Waterwynch, there are no short straw rooms. Every one of the twelve bedrooms has its own private bathroom, its own character and its own quiet comfort. Six look directly out over the bay. The remaining six overlook the formal garden. All are individually designed, roomy and well equipped.
For groups closer to 30, some rooms will be shared, but the quality is consistent throughout the house. Nobody draws the short straw.

Making the Most of Pembrokeshire
Pembrokeshire offers an exceptional range of activities for groups who want to build a programme around their stay. Coasteering, paddleboarding, kayaking, surf lessons and boat trips are all available nearby. Spa treatments and massages can be arranged at the house through our network of trusted local therapists. Tenby itself is one of the most characterful coastal towns in Wales, with good restaurants, independent shops and a harbour that rewards an afternoon’s exploration.
For groups who prefer a simpler weekend, the beach, the grounds and the house itself provide more than enough. Sea swimming has become a genuine fixture for many hen and stag groups who stay at Waterwynch, winter and summer alike. The coastal path from the grounds offers walks with wide views that clear the head before an evening of celebration.
